Who Is The Official Deed Poll Issuer?
Nobody, in a nutshell. There is no official Deed Poll issuer in the UK. Any company who tries to make you believe this is deceiving you.
A Deed Poll is a legal document that can be written by anybody. As long as the correct wording is used and the deed poll is signed, sealed and witnessed then that deed poll is legal.
In theory you could write your own deed poll. This does carry a risk of not being accepted by the relevant agencies. Also having to have a seal press made up is would cost you more than it would to buy a deed poll, even from the most expensive issuer.
That's why it makes sense to have a deed poll prepared by a professional issuer like ourselves.
We would suggest that in the UK there is one "main" issuer. That's the UK Deed Poll Service. Although they are not the "official" issuer because there is no such thing.
We would advise you to take care in choosing a company to prepare your Deed Poll. There are many websites on the internet offering this service. while their intentions may be good, you cant be sure that your data is secure or that your deed poll will be accepted.
